Hi there!
I’m back from an amazing girls trip to Koh Samui and slowly getting back into my home routine. (Hello, laundry!) My husband and I watched lots of World Cup Rugby this weekend and thanks to a bit of jet lag, I was able to stay up to watch the late games. But I’m feeling rather exhausted today so I think I may need to make a concerted effort to go to sleep earlier this week.
Okay, before I go off to load my washing machine for the umpteenth time today…
I want to share My Five Favourites for this week…
There has been so much distressing news about the probable extinction of more and more animal species lately, so here is a video of a band of wild horses to inspire you and spread some happiness.

Ever seen some people’s ‘fancy’ Instagram Stories and wondered how they do that? Well, I’ve been trying out an Instagram Story app called Unfold which helps you to create pretty Instagram stories with their templates. It’s a lot of fun and very easy to use. Simply download the app and begin. Also on Google Play – Unfold on Google Play.
At the moment I’m reading Trick Mirror: Reflections on Self-Delusion by Jia Tolentino. I’ve seen this book recommended quite a lot recently and after reading this review (see below) on Goodreads, I immediately downloaded it and have been loving it.
“I’d read Jia Tolentino’s grocery lists if she let me.” – Melanie on Goodreads.
I enjoy following The Wonder on Instagram because their posts are quirky, fun and very upbeat. And isn’t that exactly what we need in our lives right now?
I recently listened to a Goop podcast episode called Why We’re the Loneliest Society and I got a lump in my throat more than once! Johann Hari has the most fascinating things to say about the rise of depression, anxiety and loneliness in our society nowadays.
So, if you’re loving My Five Favourites – I’ll see you again next week for more recommendations.
