Have you been wearing the same make-up brands for years because you just can’t be bothered to change things up? Maybe you feel overwhelmed by all of the choices out there so it just seems safer to stick to a name brand you know.
I hear you.
But there are now some great new brands out there with fantastic formulations so it’s well worth trying out a few. Personally, I’ve been making some small changes over the past few years – as certain products I was using weren’t working for me anymore. Hello, perimenopausal dry skin!
After I fell in love with skincare and got my skin to a happy, healthy place, I noticed that I didn’t need to plaster as much makeup onto my skin anymore. Now I find that I don’t actually need very much makeup at all, really.
Top Tip: Before putting on your makeup, make sure that the last step of your skincare routine is a moisturiser because makeup goes on so much better when applied to hydrated, moisturised skin.

These are the makeup products I wear every day for a natural, no makeup look
1. Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter. This product is exceptional – it illuminates and smooths out any unevenness on my skin immediately. If I’m not going out, I wear it alone, but it’s also great under a foundation.
2. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. I can’t recommend this foundation enough. It definitely lives up to its “luminous silk” name by going on easily, smoothing out any fine lines and making your skin look truly – luminous! It’s hands down the best foundation I’ve ever used. If you Google “best foundation for mature skin”, this foundation features prominently.
3. No. 7 Instant Illusions Wrinkle Filler. This is a magical formula that I use to smooth out the lines around my mouth. And it really works. Did I say magical? I’m not even kidding.
4. Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush Stick in Chouchette. This is a great multi-tasker because it can be used on your cheeks, lips and eyelids. It’s so versatile and adds some warmth to your overall look.
5. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. This product has served me well because it does a good job hiding my dark circles, but I’m thinking of trying either the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer or the Too Faced concealer next.
6. Hourglass Unlocked Mascara. This is a tubing mascara which basically means it contains tube-like polymers which wrap around each individual lash, making your lashes appear extra-long. And it works! It instantly makes you look like you’ve got lash extensions! Also, it doesn’t smudge. And as a contact lens wearer, I never have to worry about getting mascara in my eyes and fogging up my lenses. And another benefit? It’s super easy to remove at the end of the day. Best mascara ever!
7. Kosas Lip Oil. I love this hydrating and glossy lip treatment. I chose the Unhooked shade and find it very versatile. Also, I love that it isn’t sticky.
