I’m always looking for good moisturisers for mature skin. Because as we know, our skin can become quite dry as we age and having dehydrated skin can exacerbate fine lines and wrinkles. Also, new products often come out that promise the latest developments in skincare, and I want to see whether they’d be a good fit for me.
A few things are important when I look for a moisturiser. Firstly, I prefer a creamy texture that is not too thick and difficult to apply. In addition to that, added ingredients with results that are clinically proven, are always good.
Here are my top 8 moisturisers for mature skin, at the moment
Skin Rocks – The Moisturiser
I buy the fragranced version of this moisturiser because I love the scent. But it also comes in Fragrance-Free if you prefer unscented. It is suitable for all skin types and the formula includes skin-conditioning and hydration-boosting actives like pro-vitamin D3 and ceramides, with antioxidants.
It has a smooth, whipped texture and can be used in the AM and PM. Great for dryness, dehydration, dullness and sensitive skin. This is my favourite moisturiser right now. I use it at night and love it. It has the perfect texture, smells great and absorbs quickly without leaving my skin feeling greasy.
Sunday Riley – CEO Afterglow Vitamin C moisturising cream
This lightweight, brightening vitamin C moisturiser delivers continuous hydration, firmness and a glowing complexion. It’s good for dullness, dehydration and hyperpigmentation. If you are using a retinoid, you would use this moisturiser in the AM because of the vitamin C. I love that it’s a vitamin C and moisturiser in one because it saves me time in the morning.
Murad – Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture
This lightweight cream will hydrate your dry skin and improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles. I like this one because it has a good cream texture and I know that Murad has good formulas.
Drunk Elephant – Protini Polypeptide Cream
This formula addresses hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles and dullness. It’s nourishing and repairs the complexion. It has a more lightweight texture so you probably wouldn’t use this if you prefer a more nourishing cream.
Vieve – Skin Nova
This primer moisturises, gives you a glow and plumps your skin all in one! Because this is a primer, you would only use this in the morning (under your makeup). This one is also a great timesaver – for those who only have time for a quick routine in the morning.
Tatcha – The Dewy Skin Cream
Rich, moisturising cream packed with antioxidants and hydration that plumps the skin. Use in the morning – it’s great under makeup.
Tatcha – Indigo Overnight Repair
This moisturiser treatment calms irritated skin and strengthens the skin barrier. So it would be good to use if your skin feels sensitive.
Biossance – Squalane and Omega Repair Cream
This is another great moisturiser to repair the skin’s barrier. It smooths out the skin, leaving you with a dewy complexion.

All these moisturisers leave my skin feeling hydrated, and some also offer additional benefits like plumping, repair, improving hyperpigmentation, and a glowing complexion. Have you tried any of these? Which moisturiser are you using at the moment?
