My midlife must-haves – Regina

Welcome to the second midlife must-haves post in my new series (or possibly even a new regular feature) here on the blog.

If you don’t know what this series is about, you can read my first midlife must-haves post over here. It explains things in more detail and you can see also what I can’t live without at the moment.

Today Regina will be sharing five of her must-haves with us. Welcome, Regina!

midlife must-haves

Hi, I’m Regina and I’m 57. I’m at the end of my menopausal journey although I’m not 100% certain as I have been using the Mirena coil since my early 40’s and haven’t had a period in all that time (although I suffer from the usual menopausal symptoms). I have 3 grown-up daughters and I’m now raising a guide dog puppy for Blind Low Vision NZ.

Here are my 5 midlife must-haves:

1. Poise panty liners – I don’t go anywhere without them! I can exercise, drink 2 cups of tea, and laugh out loud without worrying where the nearest loo is!

2. The sun and/or the sea – because I am a sun worshiper and love basking in it – even more so when I’m on the beach.

3. Morning and nighttime stretches. They don’t take long but are absolutely necessary at my age. I particularly enjoy legs up against the wall for 10 minutes before bed.

4. Unconditional love of a pet. Having a puppy in the house keeps me busy. They create healthy daily routines – I probably wouldn’t go out for a walk (or 2) EVERY day without one.

5. Friendships – especially important during these Covid times. A night out, or even a quick coffee catch up can make you feel so good especially as there is always laughter involved and that’s an absolute must-have in everyone’s life!

Thanks, Regina! It’s always fun to hear what others find important during these transformative years.
