My five favourites – the November edition

My five favourites

Hello friends. ‘My five favourites’ is here. Are you surviving the Black Friday sales?

I took advantage of the sales and bought a pair of hiking shoes that I need for an upcoming trip so I’m pretty chuffed. How about you? Have you got most of your Christmas shopping done at some great discounts? Because that would be a huge bonus, wouldn’t it?

And now, onto this month’s My five favourites:

My Five Favourites

We loved the movie, On the rocks – written and directed by Sofia Coppola and starring Bill Murray, Rashida Jones, and Marlon Wayans. This comedy is about ageing, marriage, and the relationship between a parent and his grown child. Bill Murray is a treat to watch and Rashida Jones is a constant fascination. If you loved Lost in Translation (also written and directed by Sofia Coppola), you’ll love this too.

We’re also making our way through the old TV series called Bones, a crime drama based on forensic anthropology and archaeology. The series ran for twelve seasons from 2005 until 2017 and we hadn’t watched it back then so we decided to give it a go now. (Loving it.)

In addition, we’re watching the mystery psychological thriller, The Undoing starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant. It’s definitely keeping us guessing so there’s that.

Book Recommendation

This month I’ve read (and loved) the following fabulous books:

And keeping with my home decor theme, I’ve been loving the Instagram account, Amber Interiors (Amber Lewis is an interior designer and author of the book, Made for Living, above).

My podcast pick for this month is from Postcards from Midlife again – this time an episode with Trinny Woodall talking about everyday glamour.

My Five Favourites

Have you heard of The Organised Mum Method? It’s a 30-minute-a-day house cleaning system that promises to help you clean smarter, not harder. I immediately downloaded the free printables.
