March was a big month for trying new things – with lots of exciting and fun firsts that I will continue to use and enjoy well into the future.
The new things I tried in March… and loved
Vertuo Coffee Machine
We’re big coffee drinkers in this family so when our coffee machine started leaking a few weeks ago we knew we’d have to replace it. Yes, we ignored it for as long as we could but eventually, we acknowledged that something had to be done. So off I went to Nespresso. I’d heard about a good deal they were having that involved signing up for a coffee subscription and then getting the machine for a much lower initial cost. And I came home with this Vertuo machine (it’s the one with the bigger pods).
It’s a really clever little machine that reads the barcodes on each capsule to know what size coffee you’re wanting. And I love the simplicity of it and that it’s so compact. Are you team small pod or team big pod?
4 things I tried and loved in February
Barista Milk Frother
Having saved money on the coffee machine I then convinced myself that we needed the Barista Milk Frother! As you do. (Or don’t.) But guys, this fancy thing can make anything from plain hot milk to hot chocolates (by adding a couple of blocks of chocolate to your milk), frappes (just add ice), cappuccinos and much more. You can also download the Nespresso app to check out all the recipes. I mean, how exciting is this thing?!
Paula’s Choice Hydrating Treatment Mask
There’s nothing like trying new things and realizing that you’ve discovered something great. I’m loving this super hydrating treatment mask from Paula’s Choice. It’s for dry and very dry skin so it’s great for mature skin. I use it at night after my retinol has soaked in and leave it on overnight. And it’s truly hydrating – when I use this I don’t wake up with skin that feels dry or tight. It says on the tube that it “fortifies the protective moisture barrier” and it definitely feels like it’s nourishing my skin. If you’re looking for a new mask and could do with some extra hydration – this is a great one to try.
8thdays Mini Travel 2-in-1 Fabric Iron and Steamer
I’ve been wanting to buy a portable steamer for a long time and eventually decided on this one after reading lots of good reviews about it.
It’s a good size and weight for travelling and it’s very easy to use. You simply fill the tank, plug it in, wait for the light to turn blue and off you go. It does a great job and I think it’ll be very useful on our upcoming summer trip.
And those are the things I tried and loved in March. Have you tried any of these?
