Comfortable pants are my absolute go-to at the moment. Anything with an elasticated or drawstring waist. And even though I mentioned in this post, that comfortable loungewear is all I want to wear nowadays, it just doesn’t feel right going out in my loungewear. So I needed to find clothing to wear for those times I do venture out of my home – clothes that almost feel like loungewear.
Enter my comfortable pants.
Yes, I realise that the words ‘comfortable pants’ and ‘elasticated’ sound pretty fuddy-duddy. But to show you that comfort doesn’t have to mean that you’ve given up, I’ve included some of my favourites in this post to show you that comfortable pants can also be stylish.
So to answer the question “Does this mean I’ve given up?” No, it doesn’t. It simply means that I’m adjusting to my changing body and choosing clothes that make me look good and feel good.
And the styles I gravitate towards, do a fantastic job at disguising my tummy roll and are actually very flattering. In other words, the way I’m dressing now means opting for a trouser style that hides my middle-aged spread and makes me look (and feel) fabulous.
- Paige Solynne Pants
- Veronica Beard Robinne Pants
- Reformation Montana Pants
- Faux Leather Trousers
- Joie Mariner Pants
- Chloe Ankle Grazer
Stylish, right? I’ve got versions of 2, 3, 4 and 6 – and I love how I feel when I’m wearing them.
And don’t be discouraged if you think that you might be too short to wear long, loose-fitting pants (1 & 2) because they can actually make you look taller. I’m 5’4 and wear mine with platform trainers to give me some extra height. (And keep them from dragging on the ground.) And the pants with elastic at the bottom look great dressed down with sandals or trainers but can also be dressed up with a heel.
So you can see – these are all very versatile pants. (Also, they all have pockets!)
And did I mention that they are comfortable?
