The 4 new things I tried while I was away in July

July Blog

I tried quite a few new things in July but these are the best of the bunch. I’d definitely buy all of these again. In fact, I’ve already done an online order for the cleanser.

Apple Watch Series 8

New product I tried recently

I had a Series 1 Apple watch for many years and eventually, the screen popped off. I didn’t replace it immediately. But then recently I started thinking about the great new capabilities of an Apple watch so I took the plunge and bought a Series 8. Initially, I thought I wouldn’t like the constant notifications and buzzing when you wear this watch (yes, I know you can change those settings), but I do not hate the reminders to stand and the celebration on your wrist when you reach one of your goals. So, yes, I’m enjoying my new toy.

Vichy Minéral 89 Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Serum

Beauty products I love

Sadly, Vichy doesn’t sell their products in-store in New Zealand (that I know of), so when I was in Boots in London, I picked up a bottle of this hyaluronic acid serum. I’d been wanting to try it for ages. And it’s fantastic – the consistency of this gel serum is light, not sticky and it goes on beautifully. Formulated with hyaluronic acid and mineral-rich Vichy volcanic water, it strengthens and repairs your skin barrier, and hydrates and plumps your skin. I love this product!

The Cream Cleanser by Skin Rocks

Skin Rocks The Cream Cleanser

Ooh, this cleanser is AMAZING. It’s a relatively new product from Caroline Hirons (you may know that I highly rate her skincare recommendations, and now also her own Skin Rocks products). This cleanser is a cream that’s just the right consistency (not too thick), it lathers beautifully (not too frothy) and it cleans my face so well. I opted for the fragrance-free one, but there is a fragranced one if you prefer some scent.

Ribbed Cropped Sleeveless Bra Top

Tank Top

I don’t usually buy cropped tops but I find the medium isn’t too cropped. It covers my stomach and I can tuck it into my high-waisted pants. So don’t be put off by the fact that it’s cropped. Also, I am a UK/AU size 10/medium and this medium fits true to size. It’s not too tight to slip over your head which can often be the case with tank tops like this. And the best part is that it has a built-in bra. This is SUCH a versatile piece to wear under a shirt or blazer (or even alone). I bought this in black and cream. Love them.

So have you tried any of these new things I tried in July?
