My 4 favourite coffee table books right now

Coffee Table Books

New coffee table books are the best. And yes, I may have gone a bit overboard in the past few weeks, but it IS winter here so snuggling under a blanket, sipping a cup of tea and paging through a beautiful new coffee table book is almost compulsory, isn’t it? It’s certainly recommended if you need some inspiration and an injection of happiness.

Also, in addition to being a good source of inspiration, coffee table books make great decorations. So there’s that. In case you need a bit of convincing. I know I don’t.

Anyway, here are the beauties I bought.

The New French Look by Lauren Li

I have a newish love for the Parisian apartment look – the wooden herringbone floors, the wall mouldings, the ornate mirrors above the marble fireplace and the chandelier. This book has four chapters detailing French decor – the city, the country, the beach and the mountains. I’ve gained much inspiration from this book and if you love French decor, you will too.

Call It Home by Amber Lewis

This book features nine homes designed by Amber Lewis and explains all the processes that went into her thinking when working on them. It’s a very homely book and style. And she shows all the details that make a house feel like a home. If you love Amber’s aesthetic, you’ll love this book.

Create by Ali Heath

I love the overall aesthetic of this book. It delves into establishing and developing your style and inspires you to create your own. My favourite houses are the thatched house, the beach shack and the townhouse. But all the homes offer some beauty and creativity to draw from.

Il Dolce Far Niente by Lucy Laucht

This last book was my most recent purchase and one that I came across via an Instagram account I follow. Last year we spent two weeks of summer in Italy and those gorgeous days were some of the happiest I’ve spent these past few years. So this book is a way of reliving those beautiful feelings. As I throw a blanket over my legs on the sofa, I plan to go through this book and dream of those sunny days and swimming in the Mediterranean. I’d heard that not only are the photographs in this book sublime but that the writing was an added surprise bonus. And I can attest to this. Lucy Laucht’s writing makes you feel like you’re right there, evoking reality so accurately.
