Here Are The 7 Books About Midlife That I Want to Read

Midlife Books

Are you looking for some book recommendations for the upcoming holiday season? Would you like to see which books about midlife I’ve got on my reading list?

I mentioned in a previous post that I have the Goodreads app on my phone. And I’m mentioning it again because I use that app all year long to add books to my Want to Read list. (That’s what I did with these midlife books.) Whenever I come across a book I want to read I go over to that app and add it. It’s brilliant because it means I always have an up-to-date list of books to choose from. No more trawling the internet trying to remember which books I thought sounded good. (Also, I’m sick of clogging up my phone with photos of books I think look promising.)

And then I regularly check that list and decide which books I want to download onto my Kindle to enjoy during my downtime. So I thought I’d share a few books from that list with you now. These ones are specifically about midlife. But if you want to check out my whole Want to Read list, you can go over to my Goodreads page and check it out over there.

Also, every year I participate in the Goodreads Reading Challenge and set myself the task of reading twelve books. Some years I easily surpass that goal, and other years prove to be more difficult.

I tend to keep my goal at what I feel is a very attainable number so that I don’t set myself up for failure. I reckon if I’m on a roll and reading lots I can simply alter my goal number! No harm, no foul. After all, I see it as a gentle encouragement, really. Who needs extra pressure and expectation in your life when you’re already feeling all the guilt about not doing enough exercise. 😉 Am I right?

Anyway, it’s the middle of November and I’ve just finished my last book for my 2018 reading challenge – Liane Moriarty’s new book, Nine Perfect Strangers. Have you read it?

I must admit, I haven’t read consistently throughout this year – it’s been more of a flood and drought situation. But I got there in the end so who cares, right? (Certainly not me. Hah.)
