Here are 5 things that I tried and enjoyed in April 2023

Here are 5 things that I tried and enjoyed in April 2023. It features lots of makeup products. And a month that features makeup products is always a good month!

The new things I tried and really enjoyed in April…

Trinny London – BFF Eye | Serum Concealer

things I tried and loved in April 2023

Ooh, I bought this eye concealer last month and it’s a goodie! I love that it isn’t too thick and yet it does a great job of concealing my dark circles. Also, the fact that it has lots of skincare benefits thrown in, makes it a great purchase IMHO.

The Diplomat TV series

things I tried and loved

We hadn’t been able to find much to watch on Netflix (or any of the other channels) lately, but then we discovered this show. And we’re loving it. Yes, it’s another American political drama, but this one has a very real feel about it which I think comes from the fact that there is a British influence in the story. If you’re looking for something new to watch that’ll keep you on your toes with its cleverness, then I’d recommend trying this show.

Tower 28 Mascara

things I tried and loved in April 2023

I’d read lots of great reviews about this “Make Waves” Tower 28 mascara so I decided to give it a try. “Make Waves” is for sensitive eyes and it’s also contact lens-safe so that made it an easy decision for me. And boy was I impressed. This is the first time that I’ve tried a mascara brand and thought “Wow! That actually makes my eyelashes look amazing.” I truly noticed my eyelashes, which I don’t ordinarily do.

I will admit, though that I don’t usually go for mascara with a curved brush like this because I don’t really know how to use it properly?! But I’ve been following the instructions on the package – to use the inner wave of the brush to build volume and the longer bristles to lengthen and define the lashes – and it seems to be working.

Sleeveless Knit

things I tried and loved in April 2023

This sleeveless knit is getting lots of wear this Autumn in Auckland. It’s the perfect layering piece that takes the chill off without being too warm. I’ve been wearing mine over a shirt and then when I go out, I throw on a jacket or my trench coat and I’m set. It’s been a great little addition to my wardrobe this month.

Milk Sculpt Contour Stick – Toasted

things I tried and loved in April 2023

I was influenced to buy this contour stick during the recent Sephora sale and I’ve got to say, it’s a great little product. I love its size and the fact that it glides on so easily and isn’t too overpowering. Being a beginner in the makeup application department, I really appreciate this. There’s nothing as daunting as trying a new product and it requires you to be an expert makeup artist to apply it properly. This contour stick is very forgiving and easily blendable which I love. I’m definitely going to try other Milk products going forward.

And wow, how is it already May?!
