Happy New Year to You!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you! How is your 2019 going so far? Have you eased into the year slowly or did you hit January running? I’ve definitely eased into mine and after a busy end to last year and a fun family-filled festive season, this mellow start has been most welcome.

I’ve been reading everyone’s new year’s resolutions on the web recently, and while I have tried doing these from time to time, I realise that I don’t tend to follow through properly when I make them. So I thought I might try this newish trend of choosing a word for the year and having that stick with me through whatever goals I choose to pursue. I’m still thinking of my word, but I’ll let you know when I settle on one that fits. ๐Ÿ˜‰ (And yes, I guess this is just a ‘softer’ new year’s resolution list after all. Hah.)

One thing I do know, however, is that I want to focus on self-care this year. And while I think self-care is important for everyone, I feel especially drawn to it now as a middle-aged woman. It has increasingly become more important to me and I find myself incorporating more self-care routines into my life every year now.

Skincare is high up on my list of areas that I’m focussing on, but I’m also wanting to include extra vitamins, daily meditation and more exercise into my life.

And besides my personal physical and health self-care, I also want to focus on my spiritual self-care this year. To me, that means paying attention to what makes me happy and content and doing more of that.

How about you? Do you make a list of resolutions every year? Or do you choose a word? Or both? I feel that whatever you do is a positive exercise. It focuses us on looking forward, setting goals and choosing to have a better life.

Happy New Year to you! I hope it’s a fabulous one for all of us.

Good plan, but remember to enjoy the moment youโ€™re in. ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜
