We all read fascinating bits and bobs on the internet every day. I mean, there are so many articles out there, so many stories and so much information, it stands to reason. But how much time do you spend reading the news and looking for engaging articles to read? Do you find yourself refreshing your Facebook, RSS and Twitter feeds endlessly and sifting through too much fluff?
With social media and the news cycle endlessly vying for our attention, we have to be quite discerning to protect ourselves from that continual onslaught and temptation. So that got me thinking that I might be able to help you by creating a weekly, curated list of great midlife-related articles that I found on the web. So you’d have a place to visit every week, to read interesting information relating to your midlife journey that you might have missed – without having to search the internet yourselves.
You see, I find myself drawn to reading curated list posts by bloggers I trust and relate to, to keep up with interesting trends and new information regarding various topics that I’m interested in. And I think you might feel the same way. (Some of my favourite bloggers do these list type posts and I adore reading them every week.)
And while other bloggers might include more general topics or topics specific to their niches, I’ll be sharing specifically about midlife-related topics because that’s what this blog is about, after all. I plan to include both serious, informative pieces and fun, light-hearted articles. And hopefully you’ll enjoy reading them and they’ll encourage some conversation.
So if you’re open to this idea, I’d like to kick off my new series by sharing this list of great reads for your weekend reading:
- I shared this article on my A Modern Midlife Facebook page at the beginning of June after being blown away by the information I had learnt in it. Did you know there could be a link between Menopause and Alzheimers?
- Making friends as an adult can be challenging. Here’s some advice for those who might need it.
- Speaking of friends – do you hug or kiss your friends? Fascinating.
- Here’s why women get so many auto-immune diseases.
- This post about perimenopause made me laugh out loud more than once.
