I went to lunch with a few girlfriends a couple of weeks ago and afterwards, we went shopping in the new mall downtown in Auckland City. That’s where I discovered the pyjama set of my dreams in the loveliest little sleepwear store. And that’s why beautiful sleepwear is now my new obsession.
Well, that, and I’ve also always admired women who swan around in luxurious, silky pyjamas and fluffy slippers. And while I don’t want to emulate the whole ‘over-the-top Hollywood scenario’, I’ve always thought that the ‘mature and beautifully put-together sleepwear vibe’ was so gorgeous. Do you know what I mean? That vibe that says “this is a stylish yet practical woman who doesn’t have a personal assistant but understands sophistication”. *insertraucouslaughterhere* (Okay, that description does sound a little lame.)
Anyway, I guess what I’m trying to say, is that I no longer want to be that person who has a drawer full of ugly, old, faded pyjamas that have lost their shape and don’t bring me any joy when I wear them. Is that too much to ask? I’m thinking no. *enternewobsession* #middleagedwomenstylingitup
Oh, and one more thing, it’s not only about aesthetics because pyjamas have also (obvs) got to be comfortable. That’s not negotiable. So you see, these styles aren’t too ‘Hollywood’ – they’re classics that can make you feel stylish and beautiful. I think that’s one of the great things about getting to these middle-aged years.
