15 knits that’ll keep you warm and make you look stylish this winter

Knits for Winter

Knits for winter. Because the weather is cooling down here in Auckland. And the stores are filling up with their autumn/winter collections – hooray!

I can’t wait to start wearing my winter clothing again after living in dresses all summer. And after my big wardrobe decluttering session during our third (or was it fourth?) lockdown, I’ve been looking for a couple of new jumpers and cardigans, to fill a few gaps I have in my capsule wardrobe. Here are some beauties that I found:

V-Neck Knits

For those who don’t like anything too warm around their necks. Hello, v-neck!

Right: Rebecca Minkoff Lili Sweater

Mock/Turtle/Round Neck Knits

And when it’s a bit too cold for the v-neck – enter the mock/turtle/round neck.

Middle: Anine Bing Sydney Sweater

Right: Everlane Oversized Alpaca Crew

Striped Knits

And when you need a bit of fun and colour in your life – stripes are the answer.

Middle: Sézane Léontine Jumper

Right: Wyse London Gayle Stripe Breton Jumper – Ivory/Green

Cardigans

Ooh, cardigans are my favourite.

Middle: Hush Ada Striped Cardigan

Vests/Tunics/Tanks

And I’m seriously thinking about adding one of these to my wardrobe this season. They’re great to wear on their own (if you’re suffering from hot flushes) or over a thin top. (Being our age, this is one of those fashion items that we might have worn when we were young and they first made their appearance. Hah.)

Middle: & Other Stories Relaxed Wool Knit Vest

Right: Mango Light Knit Gillet

I’m embracing knits this season because not only do they do the job of keeping you warm, but they look good and they’re super comfortable. I’m definitely not ready to let go of comfortable clothing, especially during these cooler months. Knits are going to be my go-to for autumn and winter. Also, they fit into a capsule wardrobe seamlessly and if you buy a neutral colour, they’re a versatile addition to any wardrobe.

These are the knits I covet right now. #knitsforwinter #midlifewomen #whattowear Share on X
